On fascia and the development of Flexotaping® - Myofascial K Taping

More and more people and therapists have heard or even been trained in Kinesiology Taping.

Results of fascia research
over the last few years have shown that
fascia plays a much more important role
than expected and has major effects on

- pain generation
- stability
- movement dynamics
- force transmission
- proprioception

These new results have been the motivation for Markus to start developing new taping techniques.
In order to affect the fascia and the myofascial system properly the Kinesiology Taping techniques have not been sufficient enough.

2006 Markus Erhard developed the revolutionary “Myofascial Taping Method” .
It all came not out of the blue. Markus Erhard and the Physio Training Academy with its worldwide network of doctors, osteopaths, physiotherapists, sports scientists, lecturers and many people from fascia research are involved in many research projects and studies. The evidence gained goes back into the courses and development of techniques and therapy approach to keep up our overall goal - to provide the most innovative and effective myofascial therapy method.

Myofascial K Taping is based on the nature of the myofascia and its fascial network.
Whatever else muscles do individually, they also influence functionally integrated body-wide continuities within the fascial webbing. These lines follow the wrap of the body’s connective tissue fabric, forming traceable 'meridians' of myofascia. Thomas Myers with his Anatomy Concept was one of the greatest influences of developing the Myofascial Taping Method.

Myofascial Taping uses a similar tape but the techniques, applications and method are different and further developed than the regular kinesiology taping.
Acute and chronic myofascial pain that keeps people and athletes from moving properly and musculoskeletal problems that seemed to take long time to resolve or reduce are often fixed in one therapy session which usually takes only a few minutes.

Instantly & long lasting
One taping session brings astonishing results, instantly.
Some consecutive applications make it long lasting.
